INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Chopperline Flight Training is authorized by the Australian Government under the Commonwealth Register of Institutions for Overseas Students (CRICOS) to provide Flight Training to International Students on valid student visa’s.

Chopperline is very experienced in training International Students from all parts of the world including pilots from Oman, India, Japan, Europe, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea just to name a few.

We offer fulltime courses for both fixed and rotary wing and can tailor these courses to meet most governing authorities from overseas. This will enable you to convert your Australian Licence back to your home country with ease.

Student Visa Enrolment Procedure  

STEP ONE:

Read the international student information pack and choose the course that best suits your needs. Once you've chosen this course you will need to fill in the enrolment form and return it with the following evidence;

1. Proof of English - Refer to enrolment form and CASA English form for detailed information
2. Copy of you current passport (must have at least 6 months validity left)
3. Provide a copy of your training records if applying for RPL

STEP TWO:

Once we have received the enrolment form we will review your application and decide whether or not you meet the requirements. Once approved, a "Letter of Offer" and the conditions of your enrolment will be sent out. You are required to read and understand the contract between yourself and Chopperline before signing the contract. Return the original “Letter of Offer" with your signature, along with the course deposit.

STEP THREE:

Once the "Letter of Offer" and deposit have been received Chopperline will issue you with a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). The CoE will need to be sent by you to immigration with your application for processing.

STEP FOUR:

Your visa application will be assessed by the department of immigration and once approved you can start the course as per your course schedule.

Student Health Cover 

As part of your student visa you must maintain overseas health cover for the full duration of the visa.

Chopperline will organise basic health cover through Australia Health Management Group (AHM). Should you wish to increase your cover please notify Chopperline at the time of your enrolment.

English Requirements – Civil Aviation Safety Authority

A condition of enrolment is that students must meet the minimum requirement of English Proficiency set out by CASA before enrolment can be accepted. CASA has nominated IELTS or TOEFL or TOEIC as the acceptable general English language test. These international general English tests are delivered by commercial companies which are completely independent of CASA.

CASA requires the minimum scores for the respective English language tests for the issue of a SPL:

* Applicants who sat the TOEIC 'Listening & Reading' test outside Australia and passed with a minimum score of 650 prior to 06 April 2009, and have recently arrived in Australia but are as yet unable to sit the TOEIC 'Speaking & Writing' test may check with CASA on the acceptability of just their TOEIC 'Listening & Reading' test as the language pre-requisite for the issue of a SPL.

Validity of general English language test when applying for SPL

The test taken by applicant shall not be older than 2 years on date of application for the SPL.

Course Co-ordinator/Student Contact Officer  

Chopperline has a Course Co-ordinator/Student Contact Officer whose core role is to look after the students needs. Our Course Co-ordinator/Student Contact Officer will assist students with Visa applications, airport transfers, accommodation, course requirements and all day to day queries or issues.
